I looked at the link and think it an expensive purchase (around £90+) especially as the associated datasheet informs it has a DB25 connector for connection to a computer's printer port and is compatible with OS's that disappeared decades ago :lol:
I do like the idea of them for precisely the reasons you give, but decided that Matrix eBlocks offered a better fit especially as I was already using their multi-programmer.
Mine were bought cheap... So quality would be questionable.
It didn't have an antenna coil, you had to use a length of wire.

They look similar those cheap (really cheap) modules available from all the usual places and if so, they are truly terrible. They may not be the same though so I'm not going to put you off.

You mentioned issues with your breadboard but personally I have found far, far more issues with jumpers.
Many you get "free" are a complete liability as the quality is non existent. The pins are close, but not exactly the dimensions to ensure reliable connection.
I can get quite into the RPi family but then my attention is forced away, more so if travelling but I can still write / simulate in Flowcode so things aren't too bad.
