Hi chipfryer27

Very nice project!

If the zombie is already very close to you, you can evaluate his hand movements (I hope so for you)

You can found some infos and videos about the PAJ7620U2 IC or about Integrated Gesture Recognition Sensor

Maybe the PAJ7620U2 can be a component for Flowcode?

Hi

Those sensors do look interesting and it would be very handy to have a component. However I'm not sure gestures made by a Scottish zombie would be recognisable

Hi

Following up on the FC component now having a setting for short / long range I recreated a test from above. Again using "makerbeam" I created a rail and moved the sensor / taget appart over a distance of 280mm (limit of my setup) and set sensor to short range.

Again, nothing fancy, just averaging 200 readings and displaying. This was only a quick test so each actual measurement may be out by no more than +/-3mm at most.

As you can see there is consistancy in reading up to ~160mm (with an error of about 8 to 11mm) which is far better than in my previous test above. With my accuracy of only 2 or 3mm this does translate quite well in terms of repeatibility.

From 180 out to 280mm this error reduces significantly. So much so that I intend to do more accurate tests out to two metres when I get the chance. Of course my zombie will again be the target for that :)
