I have searched for videos on component creation but only see pre V10 details. Wiki details don't match my V10. Any ideas or links?

Component creation is basically the same for version 9 and version 10. What is the specific issue that is bothering you?

I follow the instructions until I am face with "that button/selection is not there!

Not sure which "text" primitive. Would that be text box or static text - UNDER 2d OR 4d OR Primitives 3d?

Actually, been through that PDF and failed. Just tried it again and stumped at step 6

Any text that shows on 2D panel works.

Could you describe what issue you are having? Is there something you can not find? Is there something not showing that you need because the text refers to it?
It is hard to help if we have to guess what issue you have.

Step 4. I don't seem to be able to find a reference to "root component"

When a part of a component is exposed e.g. the colour property, then it will show on the Root Component.
To view all exposed properties on the Root Component, you select the dropdown of properties ,then left click on Root Component at the top.
