Simulation cannot be stopped

Hi,
I made a schoolboy error and found the simulation could not be stopped. I was testing a program and got an "Array index out of bounds" error. My mistake but the simulation was stuck in a loop and none of the buttons would work so I had to use task manager to stop it.
The program was lost as I had not saved it, I am good at mistakes tonight
I am sure I can recreate it if you need it.

Regards,
Bob

Maybe not, I did it again and I stopped it this time?

Hi Bob,

If you do happen to find a way to replicate the problem then let us know and we'll be all over it.

Hi Ben,
This happened again, I have attached the program. I simulated it "Fast with no updates" and it was fine as far as i can recall, when I set it to "Fast with updates" the simulation worked but I could not pause or stop it. I could not close FC down either. I think the issue is that there is no time for the program to check the pause or stop or anything else. The PC is i7 with 32gb RAM so quite capable.

Hi

I've noticed that too on occasion. In one instance though probably due to me inadvertently allowing the Main Loop to spin around doing pretty much nothing (I thought is was doing something but I'd screwed up).

I had to use task manager to kill.

Hi!

I am experiencing the same issues as well. Sometimes when I create a new project with various components on the 2D dashboard and try to start the simulation, some LEDs and switches do not work. If I use "Step into", I’m lucky that they work, and sometimes if I save the project and open it again, it works. My PC is fast with 16GB RAM and a 500GB HDD. It is also a known issue in FC10 for me.
