Re: 16F88 locks up on the multiprogrammer board

Hi Ben,

Thanks for that link - very interesting, and I'm relieved that I'm not the only one having problems.

Cheers,

Peter

Re: 16F88 locks up on the multiprogrammer board

Hi Ben, My power supply is 13.5 volts, so I'm guessing that is not the problem? I notice from Microchip's data sheet that when Timer 1 oscillator is enabled it overrides trisb and sets RB6 and 7 to inputs - so I'm guessing it also overrides their use for programming. The main problem with my program...

Re: 16F88 locks up on the multiprogrammer board

Hello Ben, Thanks for the reply. I think I have solved the problem now (though I still don't know the cause). I haven't switched on code protect - config fuse settings are: #pragma DATA 0x2007, 0x3f38 #pragma DATA 0x2008, 0x3ffc (I'm using Boost C on MPLAB to produce the hex files) PPP simply report...

16F88 locks up on the multiprogrammer board

I have had a problem with the multiprogrammer board apparently “locking up” PIC16F88s, so that PPP cannot identify, erase or program them. At first I thought that this was the same problem that is discussed in the FAQ, but the circumstances were not quite the same (it makes no difference whether...

Re: Anyone using pre-XP Windows?

Steve, Thanks for suggesting Wine. I'm using a dual boot (win2k/FC8) machine, and following your suggestion I've just tried running the executable under Wine. It starts up OK but without any of the components registered, which is odd as this is the self same set-up that runs well under Windows. I'll...

Anyone using pre-XP Windows?

Hi Steve,

I'm using Win2k, with no plans to change in the near future, so if you went ahead i would be unable to upgrade.

Thanks Steve. Those are two of the sources I checked out before posting my request - sorry, I should have said that I had been doing some looking around first. The E-blocks ciruit diagram are invaluable for designing the peripheral electronics but they don't show the actual microprocessor (no reason...

Example circuits

I've programmed a 16f88 ready for my first project and it's working fine on the multiprogrammer board. Now I need to transfer it to a real circuit, but I could do with some examples of circuits so that I know what else has to go onto the PCB with the PIC. At this stage I need something really simple...

Where is the "getting started" guide

Hi, I've just got myself an E-blocks starter kit and I'm keen to get going with it. Problem is, I can't find the manual "Getting started with E-blocks.pdf". I've found several refereces to it being on the Elsam CD in the E-blocks folder but I cannot see it there - the folder only contains ...
