Hi everyone,
I want to let you all know, that I have made a variable power supply with the flowcode software.
With this topic I want to share my experience with designing, building and testing this power supply.
Matrix Variable Supply Blog Post
I will be making Blog post about this project, the first one has already been posted "06-03-2014".
There are more blogpost to come about the design mistakes a made, troubleshooting and of course testing the power supply.
Feel free to ask me anything about the project, and I will answer them the best I can.
As I have mentioned in the blog post I will not release the schematics or code. For the simple reason, you will not learn anything from a ready to use solution.
If you find any difficulties I will be pleased to help you.
Anyway enjoy.
Regards Jordy

Re: Variable Power Supply
Hi Jordy
That looks great, very professional.
I like the idea of the touch screen. Appreciate you don't want to post the circuit details, but I'd like to see the display in operation if you don't mind.
That has started the cogs ticking as I could do with a new bench supply myself.

Re: Variable Power Supply
Hi John,
I still need to make a video, on how to operate the unit.
So hang on, it will be released soon (I hope).
Currently Im looking for a job, and that takes a lot of my time.

Re: Variable Power Supply
Hi Jordy,
Looks good , that has just give me the inspiration to get my power supply finished that is on the side collecting dust as I write this
need to get my finger out and carry on watching those V6 you tube tutorials
Can I ask does yours have output current limit ? how did you sort that out ?
Steve

Re: Variable Power Supply
Well yes and no, the output is current limited, this limit kicks in if the driving IC Opa549 is outside of its SOA.Steve001 wrote:Hi Jordy,

For actual current limiting, I need to have a different DAC. The DAC that I have now is a voltage output DAC. To have the function to control the output current I need a current output DAC.
This will all be handled in the next blog post.
