I think this should be ok.
One things to look out for is battery management. Are you using a controller to charge the battery, something like a simple shunt regulator circuit would do nicely.
Another thing to look out for is that the cigarette lighter is the male version so it is live then you need somewhere to place it when it's not plugged into the cigarette lighter socket so it doesn't short out. An on/off switch on your controller or a small plastic container to place the plug into when not in use would likely get around this issue.
The cigarette lighter adapter is likely fused so check the fuse is a good value to allow for high speed charging whilst still protecting from short circuits.
