ECIO clock speed config

Post by jadiflow »

Hi,

I'm using an ECIO28 and need to change the clock speed from the default 48MHz to 16MHz or so. But there is no option to do that in the Chip|Config menu; in V3 the 48MHz is shown but the selection box is grayed-out. In V4 there isn't even a selection box.
Is my only option to directly manipulate the relevant registers in a C-block or similar?

Hello Jan

The ECIO is hardware locked to 48MHz to allow the USB bootloader to work. So unfortunatley you cannot edit the clock speed.

Ben,

Thanks. Is that the case for anything that works with the USB bootloader?

If I may, I have a suggestion for V4, but for some reason I can't start a new topic there:
Many physical switches and pushbuttons use a pull-up and closing the switch causes a low at the pin involved. With the current switch components that cannot be simulated (AFAIK).
Maybe an option like 'uses pullup' meaning the switch outputs a high unless pressed/toggled.

Hello Jan

Yes anything that has the USB bootloader is fixed to a USB compatible clock rate. Eg 48MHz.

Regarding V4 questions please see this topic.

Version 4 of Flowcode allows for pullup or pulldown switch types using the active high or active low property settings.
