Hi guys,
Wikipedia is too vague and datasheets too descriptive so can anyone help please!
1. Do rotary encoders spin "endlessly" round and round or do they have a "stop" position like a normal potentiometer?
2. Some rotary encoders are described as 6 step or 16 step. I am right to assume that is the number of steps in a single rotation - effectively the resolution of the encoder?
Onto Flowcode.
3. Do the EB073 test files work correctly in Flowcode 5?
(On mine neither of the files works - I assume that in Test 1 by turning the encoders in simulation changes the numbers on the LCD up and down but it doesn't!)
That's about it so far for rotary encoders!
Best regards,
James :-}

Hi James,
1) They spin endlessly around
2) i beleive so yes
3) Quad encoders do not simulate at the moment within Flowcode, but the examples should work in hardware.
