EB-006-00-7 with dead 18F4455

Hello,
after one of my students put 14V on one of the "+V" connection of the board, the PIC18F4455 has burnt.
Is there a way to have the hex content of this processor or a programmed one in order to replace the dead one ?

Hello,
It would be fairly hard to remove and re-solder the 18F4455 device by hand. Also if the +14V was shorted to the 5V then there will probably be other devices on the board that have also been burnt out so replacing the USB chip alone will probably not work to restore the board. I would recommend replacing the board and then making students aware that they should not connect the +14V to the +V terminals or they may be faced with the bill for replacing the item.

I've done that many times in my last job and the muxers are easy to source, but anyway, I understand your policy.
Another thing, I often had problems while testing the programmed chip on the eval. board, because of a lack of oscillation. I have better results with 20pF on the 20MHz crystal instead of 10pF.
