Hi
Ive just received the ECIO ARM module, but I am not able to get the driver to install.
Im running windows 7 x64 spi

The device shows as unknow device in device manager when first connected.
I can click on this and select browse for driver, I select the ECIO ARM folder, but it says it cannot find a driver.
Ive tried this on two different pcs with the same result.

Hello John,

The ECIO ARM should be preprogrammed with a HID bootloader, as such it should not need any drivers installing on it, it should be listed under "Human Interface Devices" as a "HID Compliant Device".

However it should not be detected until it is put into programming mode this only stays up for 5seconds during normal operation, however, opening up the ECIOprog from Flowcode\v5\Tools and pressing the "reset" button once should hold the device in programming mode so you can observe it in Device Manager.

When I first connected it it tried to load a driver. (Like any other new USB device)

If I press the button on it it shows as an unknown device in other devices.(Device Manager)

The mloader is not able to detect it either.

Ive tried with it powered in the baseboard and from usb (I have changed the jumber on the ecio to suit)

It seems that your device contains the old bootloader rather than the new HID bootloader, how long ago did you purchase the ECIO ARM?

I can confirm that I did all my testing on ECIO ARM and did not have any issues in recognising the chip... For V5 the machine I was using never had an instance of ARM software or drivers on it.... Perhaps there is a residual software component left on your machine relating to an older version... Or it's DavidA's suggestion

BTW my ARM chips are appox 18 months old..

Would it be worth trying re-flashing the bootloader?

This is the first time I've tried using any arm device one either PC. Im using FC 5.3

Its strange, the PIC ECIO40 driver installs without any problems.

It's pretty late here now... I will check driver versions for you tomorrow.. I'm using FC V5.3 also.

Can't recall any set up issues... Think I used drivers from CD ELSAM 2.4

Hi John,

I think if you reflash the bootloader you should be able to get it to work,

I have attached instructions and the new bootloader, the TST socket on the EB031 is J12 'Default' on the EB061 ECIO Base Board.

Reflashing the bootloader sorted it.
Got the ECIO running a simple binary counter program so It looks to be all ok now.
Runs both on external psu and power from the usb port
