Increasing text displayed outside of icons

I believe displaying text out side of icons is a big advantage, which was covered by Steve in a a different topic. See:
http://www.matrixmultimedia.com/mmforum ... 71&p=14884
To change Flowcode 4 so text is on outside of icons, go to View then Global Options and un-tick Hide annotations (at the bottom left)
For people with windows XP, 2000 & vista and don't want to edit registry (or just an easier way) I have created two registry files. one which will add the required entries to go from this:

- Before Registry update.jpg (31.98 KiB) Viewed 8056 times
To this:

- After Registry entry.jpg (109.49 KiB) Viewed 8054 times
The other registry file will remove the new entries, so changes are undone.
Just double click files to automatically add required entries / or remove (depending on what you require) into the registry.
It is always a good idea to backup registry before making any manual changes, or clicking on any files which make changes to registry for you.
Before posting I have repeatedly used both files to alter registry with Vista and there have been no problems at all.
Hope this is helpful.

Great tutorial Medelec.
Many thanks, Im sure a lot of customers will find this information helpful. Maybe we could eventually add this information to the global options window to allow it to be easier to change by hand.

Thanks Ben.
That's a great idea. having that option will make reading and printing flowcharts much better and easier to follow. Without this option to much text is hidden.

Great thanks for letting us know. Out of interest have you had any problems using Win 7?
I use the 64 bit version at home and it seems ok but I get mad sound crackling noises when starting or stopping any audio playback. I then used the MIDI E-Block with my Synthesizer yesterday and it seemed to keep disabling all audio on my PC. I think its my old dodgy sound card or a driver problem rather then anything else. Certainly not the fault of the E-Block which normally works well. Just wondering if you are having a similar experience.

Using 32bit Windows 7 and experienced no sound issues to date. Have you entered your soundcard name at:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compat ... fault.aspx
?
If comes up as compatible, then as you say drivers or hardware problem.

It's not just the annotations that can be increased in size. There is an equivalent setting for the length of the "display name" for the icons (i.e. the title text for each individual icon).
The setting is in the same place (i.e. in "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\matrixmm\FlowCodeV4\Options") and is called "MaxDisplayName".

When the forum was updated, A few posts and files got corrupted. Since zip containing reg files is one of those affected, I have uploaded the zip file again.
Thank you for letting me know.
