can anyone explain to me how to connect a 18f4550 pic to a servo motor controller that uses a modbus comms

Hello Roy,
So you know what kind of Modbus is being used? CAN? RS485?
If so then you should be able to hack into the Modbus protocol using the relevant E-block and a bit of programming wizardry.
This site should have all the info you need on the protocol.
