Hi I'm trying to compile to a PIC16F1826 with a bit of code writen for a 16f 818, have installed the compiler but get the message
(902) no chip name specified; use "PICC--CHIPINFO" to see availble chip names.

What am I not doingcorrectly?

Hello,

Have you changed both your compiler and linker options in the compiler options window?

Also have you changed both the location and parameters for both of the above items?

Details of what you need to do are available from here.

If your still having problems then let me know and I will look into this for you.

when I try to compile. any ideas.
many thanks

Hi Barry,

Any chance you can attach your Flowcode program and the compiler output msg.txt file that is generated by Flowcode and I will have a look for you.

Hello Barry,

Unfortunately it looks like the 16F1826 does not have the CCP2xxx registers meaning that the default PWM component will not work with this device. I will have a bit of a look into this and see if we can make it work with another of the capture compare peripherals present on the device.

Just a suggestion. (sorry if not that good). If having difficulty assigning a different capture compare peripheral. Could the 16F1827 be used instead, since that has 2 CCP registers you can use both PWM's directly, plus it has double memory (7K compared to 3.5k). For the dip version there is only 11p difference in price for a quantity of 1 - 9 in farnell (uk site).

Hi Guys, Well it seems as if the 16F1827 is the way to go with this, there will be a lot of redundant menory bu what the heck, Also when I tried to use the 16F1826 with 1 PWM it would not compile as it did not recconise, the ccp2 commands.
what is the work round for this?

many thanks to all
