I am looking forward to using the pin for pin compatible upgrades of the popular 16F876 and 16F877 chips.

I would appreciate it if the next Flowcode patch would include these devices.

Initial configuring of ADCON seems to be the main up front amendment needed to enable Flowcde to migrate to 16F88X.
Changes to use the various new features will presumably take time to integrate but a 'get you started' option would be helpful.


The improvements seem impressive :
16F88 type nanowatt
Improved WDT
Individual interrupts on part B (which should men that the HP488 board can now use port B interrupts with relative ease, even with the LCD in use)
Individual port B pull ups
plus plenty more...

I think the new Flowcode already includes these devices (16f88x family), but we have not fully tested them because we don't have any samples yet.

Also, I know that the PPP software does not support them yet - I will get around to modifying PPP in the next month or two.

And the main reason for using these new devices is the price - they are almost half the price of the equivalent 16f87xA device!

I am keen to get going with the 16F886 and I'm sure others may also be. However, without PPP support it will be hard to tell if any issues arise because of the 3rd party programmer/board or from Flowcode.

but we have not fully tested them because we don't have any samples yet.

I'll try to find some time today to have a look. I don't have any of these chips yet, but I'm pretty sure I won't need them - especially with a willing guinea-pig such as yourself to test it on!
