FC10!

Hi MM team!
I discover that FC10 is released, and I already downloaded the new version. Look good and I want to upgrade and buy. I have some questions, please bear over with me
All the component and the devices are they taken from same lib. as in FC9 or do we have the risk we have to start from beginnig again, here I think with bugs?
Does FC10 use the same Toolchain as FC9 or do we have to install new, and if yes, where can I download these?
I have until now upgrade all from Ver. 3 to Fc9 and the proffessional version with all devices and component exept DSP. As far I see are these now free or do I have to pay for these again?
Is it possible to edit or use older flowcode project from ect. Fc 7,8,9 in FC10?
I want to have all the same devices component ect. as I now have in FC9, what do I have to pay for is it only for the new platform FC10?
Please guide, help and advice
Best regard
Jorgen

A majority of components are from FC9, and there are a few new 2D components, so no need to start from the beginning.

Yes, the same toolchains used in v9 will also be used for v10.
So if you already have toolchains installed for FC9, FC10 will work without installing any additional toolchains.

No you won't have to pay to use any components as they are all now 100% free.
You will need to pay for chip packs if the microcontroller you normally use is not on the
Free target list

Yes, you can go from FC9 to FC10, but you will have to adjust some component sizes.
You might find issues going from much earlier versions.
We do not recommend going from FC10 to FC

You will only need to pay for chip packs as mentioned above.

Hi Martin
Thank´s.
But you wrote: "You will only need to pay for chip packs as mentioned above." I though the devises was free? And what is then the chippack, in case I have to pay for all these again I think it is quite expensive to upgrade, honest I don´t understand, in case not for my budget

If I have misundersanding something could you please guide me so I can see what the price is for upgrading from FC9 to 10
I have Fc9 proff. with all devices and display, serial comm. ect.
Thank´s in advance.

Hi Jorgen
It's all the components that are free e.g all sensors, LCDS, PWM pots, etc.
With FC9 you need to also purchase component packs to use the above components, with V10 you don't, making it much cheaper to use (totally free if your target device is one of the free ones.
You will need to just pay for the chip packs for the microcontroller devices you use.
The chip packs are microcontrollers only, with nothing to do with components.
In your case, if you have got an FC9 project that contains components that you purchased, then with FC10 you don't have to pay out for the components to be used in FC10 like you had to when going from FC8 to FC9.
If you only use PIC8 microcontrollers for example, it will only cost you a total £48 to be able to run and compile any FC9 project containing a PIC8 microcontroller.
I hope I have answered your question.

There is another change to the licensing in v10 as explained on the
website.
The "Professional" pack is required for using Flowcode with commercial rights but it also includes a number of advanced features as explained in this page:
https://www.flowcode.co.uk/free/
