Flowcode uses for ECIO40 does not work on HP Probook

Hi,

we are having trouble with the laptops that our students are using this year. It seems that they can't program an ECIO40 when using FC9 (studentlicense). Also the teachers use the version that the school is providing, but nobody seems to be able to program an ECIO40 when using a HP Probook laptop.
Me personally am using a Dell laptop and evrything seems to work fine. I have no problem programming a microcontroller like ECIO40 directly from FC9.

Any idea what could cause the problems on the students laptops?

Perhaps this is a driver issue. Here's another thread which might help:

Hi

Unfortunately I bought a couple of ECIO's just at the end of their life, so haven't really done much with them to speak of.

You mention that your laptop has no problem (Dell) just the HPs. What is the problem they are having? Can they be a bit more specific?

Perhaps they could also try and narrow it down a bit?

Using a HP create a simple chart such as a one-second flasher then:-

Compile to C?
Compile to Hex?

If successful in compiling to Hex, can they run mLoader and program that way using the Hex just created?

Hopefully the above may give more clues as to what is going wrong.

Regards

I have found the best way to check the ECIO is first connect the ECIO to the PC via USB.
The LED should be solid lit, is it?
Run mLoader which for a 64-bit pc is located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Flowcode v9\data\tools
That should show the ECIO device:

The LED on the ECIO should flash while mloader is running
