Burned PPP Firmware Chip

Post by sharkboy18 »

Hi all,

I have the board configured such that power is able to be drawn from the USB interface.

Something occurred (I LITERALLY have no idea) and the PPP firmware chip fried.

It says do not remove. What are my options? Can I buy another? Is the Board damaged completely?

-Thx,
Sharkboy

Hello

How old is your board? Yes you can buy another or if your board is les sthen a year old we will send you a replacement out free of charge. However if one chip has gone then would sending another fix the problem. Is it possible you shorted the underside of the board on something?

Sorry for the late reply.

The board was purchased in 2007 (february)

is it still possible for me to get a free replacement?

We are an educational institution, and are having budget difficulties as a result of the current financial crisis.

Note though that we do need to charge for the chip and the shipping costs.

I'm not too sure of the cost, but it's likely to be around Β£5 in total if you are in the UK and Β£10 in total anywhere else in the world. Please get in touch (via email or PM) and we'll confirm the details.

[but bear in mind that our server died yesterday and we have had no emails for a few days; plus it's holiday season and we're unlikely to do anything until the new year]

I understood Benj's post as an "ok" to the free replacement.

I've pm-ed my address to him already.
