Eblocks DB9 connectors

Hello, I was wondering the pinout for the db 9 connectors on the E-blocks PICmicro USB Multiprogrammer are. Im planning on using it to control a project of mine and need to know the pinout. Is pin 9 +volts? and pin 1 ground? if so which pins correspond to which bits in ports A, B, C, D ? any help will be appreciated, thank you.

All E-blocks port connectors have the same pin configuration:

Port pin -> D9 pin
0 ----------> 1
1 ----------> 2
2 ----------> 3
3 ----------> 4
4 ----------> 5
5 ---------->6
6 ---------->7
7 ---------->8

0V is always connected to pin 9 of the D9 connector.

To confirm pin 9 is ground.

Out of interest why did Matrix Multimedia not make Pin 9 Vcc and the shell Gnd. Would have saved running all those 5V wires to those E-Block that need a supply.

The GND connection is required on all E-Blocks boards as a signal reference. A positive supply is required for most boards, but is not always 5V. Wiring the positive supply separately allows the appropriate voltage to be connected.

Also the outer shell is not always connected across eg when using IDC cables.
