Anti-virus software and Flowcode

Post by Steve »

Users who are affected by false claims by anti-virus software may like to read this note in our FAQ section:

http://matrixmultimedia.com/support/vie ... =1188#1188

Please note that we at Matrix take every step possible to ensure our software is free from malicious content (e.g. computer viruses), and are hoping that the current situation with AntiVir software falsely reporting our software as a threat will be resolved soon.

I have updated the FAQ post as a result of recent correspondence with Avira (the makers of AntiVir).

Hallo Steve

I read on sourceboost homepage:
If you experience problem with anti virus programs and SourceBoost V6.95 then please use V6.96. Renaming of some of the .exe components in the installation has been done to prevent these false alarms.

Is v4.1 with compilerversion V6.96?

It's a late change that I'd like to avoid making, but we might have to.

But there is some more good news. I received the following from AntiVir staff:
We made the decision that we will whitelist this file. So with one of
the next updates Avira won't detect this file anymore.

We think this is the best solution.
This hopefully means we will not need to update the BoostC compiler. But I will look into this and see if there are any implications of doing this update in the v4.1 release.
