Hi People,
I'm having difficulties making the VGA port work.I've downloaded the both the zip file from the main website and the one from elsewhere in the forum (probably the same file) but neither will give me anything from my monitor.
Equipment I'm using is as in the EB033 datasheet with a 10MHz crystal and an 18LF4455 Pic and a Dell 1704 Flat panel monitor.
I've tried the VGA_Tester.fcf file - this compiles and downloads but comes back with errors on the verify.
VGA Controller.fcf wont even compile.
Downloading the VGA_Tester.hex file direct using PPPV3 coes back with no errors but no display on the monitor either.
It's also not very encouraging to find a large error file as part of the downloaded files (\VGA Code\Program.err).
Questions:-
1. Where is the SVGA.hex file mentioned in the datasheet?
2. Has the board been tested using a 18LF4455 and if not what PICs have been used?
3. Are there any other files I need to have on the PC?
4. Any suggestions, I'm beginning to get desperate?
5. Has anybody out there in ForumLand actually used this board successfully? If so any chance of a quick peek at your code?
Best regards,
Nick D'Arcy

Re: Problems with EB033 VGA PS2 board
Hello Nick
It was a fairly long time ago that I wrote the VGA example programs. I think they were running on a 18F4455 device so your 18LF4455 should be fine. I was running the device with a 25MHz crystal so this is probably what is causing your programs to fail. You can either reduce the resolution on the display by altering the timings or you can get a 25MHz crystal and see if that fixes your problem.
