IR E Block

Post by JohnCrow »

Ive been trying simple experiments with the IR E block. Ive configured it with the patch system TXIR = 0 and RXIR = 1 and jumper 2 = none
I can make the IR LED flash by writing a 1 / 0 to it with a simple loop and output to port c.

Ive tried the same in reverse to make it detect the output of a remote control. by using the input function in FC4 (Im not trying to decode the O/P just detect it). I know the remote is working as I can see the led light up on a video camera.
Nothing happen when I run the program and shine an IR input into it.
Am I missing something or is there more to detecting than sending?
Thanks

Hello John

When you are transmitting or toggling the TX pin you are actually sending data via one of the two IR chips. These automatically packetise your data into IrDA format. When you are sending data back to the device it has to match up with the protocol and speed of the chip being used. You can configure the jumpers to define which chip and which speed is used for communication untiol your device is correctly receiving data. For more help please refer to the Eblock datasheet area of our website.
