Hi
In the last month I was writing a program for two pic micro controllers and when I programmed them I found out that I have a 2-10 second delay in response from when I turn the potentiometer to when pic responds to it. I am using pic 16f73 and 20MHz crystal. When tried to program the device I couldn’t select the internal oscillator so I had to make more room on the board for crystal. This is just a small problem the problem I have is why the delay? In view-project options I only changed the frequency of oscillator to 20000000Hz and under chip-configure-switch to expert comfig screen I set the oscillator on XT, watchdog timer off, power up timer off, burn out detect, on and code protect off.
I had a word with a friend that had the same problem and he replied me that he just changed division and that then it worked, but in config I couldn’t find this division because there are jut the specifications listed few sentences above.

Re: delay betwin input output
Hello Jan,
The 16F73 device does not have the internal oscillator hardware so this is why that feature is not available in the PPP software.
The Oscillator must be set to HS in the expert configuration settings. XT is for crystals up to 4MHz where HS is for crystals 4MHz and over.
Changing the osc setting should hopfully fix the problems you having.
