Goodday,
I purchased Flowcode in march together with the e-blocks switch, led and lcd.
The cd contains flowcode version, 4.2.3.58 had to upgrade to 4.3.7.63 because some
icons were misplaced. In my opinion all components are working, I can place them and
edit there connections.
Last week I purchased the e-blocks eb0008, eb0011, eb0013 and eb0022.
none of the testfiles from the download work.
All I get is an error:
"Flowcode could not load one of the components in the file because it is not registered on this machine. Install the necessary components before this file"
So I went to the forum for some answers:
What I already did (without result)
- Change the language in the global settings. (it was dutch, tried english also).
- Reregister the components with the supplied .bat file
- Reinstalled the new downloaded flowcode.exe (after deinstalling flowcode)
- Rerereinstalled the downloaded flowcode.exe after running the unregister components.bat and deinstalling flowcode and edit the regedit file removing let over
entries regarding flowcode ie. some preferences were still there !
- repeated the above step and installed flowcode from the cd version 4.2.3.58, still no luck getting the same error and a new one,
Error: Access violation at 0x0046CB16 (tried to read from 0x00000020), program terminated.
an update from 4.2. -> 4.3 helps, no error violation anymore, but the component issue stays.
any ideas ?
the only thing i can comeup with is the files are written for flowcode V3..
my OS is
win7 ultimate dutch (32 bits)
(o, btw the registry entry language is blanc and profile is flowcode 4)
Regards Frank

Re: E-Block (some) test files don't work
Hello Frank,
I think the problem is that although Flowcode v4 can open v3 programs it cannot open v2 programs and this is what is causing the problem. I will generate the v3 versions of the programs and they should then open correctly in v4 of Flowcode.
The Flowcode examples pack that is available for download from the main Flowcode webpage or from the Flowcode CD contains a lot of examples of how to drive different E-blocks and other hardware using the components.

Re: E-Block (some) test files don't work
Thanks for your reply,
I'm happy to hear that it's just a conversion issue of older v2 files,
For a moment I was a bit worried, especially when there are just readers and no repliers,
that’s why I also placed the questions at the E-Blocks section (sorry for that).
The advantage of the supplied testfiles above the demo files on the web/cd is the
step by step description in the datasheet, I Like it save
I will wait for the converted files..
Regards
Frank
