Hi all,
clicked to save my file and Flowcode5 just hung, would not do anything hourglass symbol not ending, so I ended the task. Re-opened Flowcode and tried to open the file but it comes up with:
" an unknown error occured while accessing C:flowcode files\dmxcontrol.fcf"
What do I do now? The above file is there but I cannot open it in Flowcode.
Please help.

Hi
Is this the first time you have saved the file? If not you can try the following.
Each time you save it, flowcode makes an automatic backup of the previous version
This will be named dmxcontrol.fcf.001
Rename this file removing the .001 from the filename and try opening that. Suggest you backup this file before trying to open it in flowcode, just incase you have a problem with flowcode and it corrupts this one as well.

Hi. If you do have the backup and want to send us the corrupt and working versions, we can try to replicate the issue here.
If you do not have a backup, send us the corrupt file but I doubt there will be much we can do to restore it if the save has corrupted early on in the file.

Hi thanks for the replies!
I re-named the back up file and took the offending corrupted .fcf out, it now works OK! Many thanks John - I thought my past 2 days work had gone down the spout!! Hope this is not a regular occurance!

Hi
Glad you got it sorted.
You can rest assured, flowcode is a very reliable package. That sort of problem is quite rare.
But just in case of problems my way is to save regularly (with any software package) and append a number to the file. ie file1 , file2 etc that way if you do have a problem its easy to go back and only loose an hour or so's work.
