GSM Module - Will it work with Flowcode 5.4?

Post by Sparkoids »

Hi guys,

I'm trying to run the E-Block GSM Module with FC5 and am still running into the same problems that I had previously and wondered if it will run on the new revison of Flowcode 5 that is due for release please.

The problem is that despite programming a simple "Display Text" program (Thanks to John Crow) it works in FC4 which I do not want to reinstall!

Please let me know...

Hi David,

The program (sometimes!) transfers to the IC but never actually works unless it's sent using FC4.

It has something to do with the CTS and RTS lines which are not activated in FC5.

This was the last post on the topic and John Crow had the same problems I did with FC4/5.

All the test files, both from yourselves and the ones John did, work perfectly in FC4 but none do in FC5 and often the Eblock / USB lead is not detected in FC5.

I have changed the sim from O2 to Orange and it works OK now but the same issues exist I'm afreaid....

Hello,

Can you link the simplest example you can where the v5 GSM E-block doesnt work for you?

(Ie not a giant program which with hundreds of icons, but a small test program)

Hello James,

It is the EB066 you are using isn't it?

It is... Not sure why the ECIO doesn't work though - that's what kicked this whole thing off!

Hello,

Well on my Eb006 + EB066 the programs are working fine, the program completes and says it has sent the message, where abouts is it you are having problems with the program: Receive-fc5-Hard-Mode-Works?

Additionally i have just tested on the ECIO and the program runs through fine with the EB066 on Port C on the ECIO.
