help with pic16f1619

Post by john_m0ers »

Hi, Is there a way to incorporate the necessary files to enable use of the pic16f1619?
Sometime ago there was an article on how to write your own chip files, but I cant remember where.
Could someone tell me where I can find it please?
Thanks
john

Is this what you are referring to?
I don't believe the chip you want to create is currently supported by BoostC.
jj34 was in the same boat as you and created his own chip files that was not supported by BoostC.
Take a look at this topic from start to end.

Hi Martin, thanks for that. I'm sure Matrix must think we're all made of money or something. Why is it with other companies liked Mikroelktronika they offer FREE lifetime upgrades of their compilers.
I'm beginning to wish I had gone down that route to start with. I seem to remember that prior to fc6 release there was mention of doing away with boost c. I bought FC6 all but arm at professional level, and fc3 and 4.
Things like adding a new chip should be paramount, as they're being released all the time. Flowcode Is a fantastic idea, but when you're looking at five hundred pounds in my case to upgrade each time a chip comes out.
I believe its pricing itself out of the hobby market.

Hi John,

We take your thoughts on board and are looking to make changes to our licensing system for v7 to ensure we don't price hobbyists out of the market. We do also prioritise new chips too which is why we are making big steps with v7 to ensure we will be able to do this properly.
