Testing pre programmed PICs in HP488

Post by Nev »

Hello,
I am thinking of buying a HP488 board but my main use would be to test the functionality of programs I had already loaded into my PIC via my programmer separate from the 488.
Assuming the jumpers are set correctly for my PIC is this possible or does the program have to be input via the HP488 board and associated software ?
In addition to this is the functioning of the board dependant on being connected to the PC and software or will it run the PIC code on the stand alone board (with external psu).

Best regards

Nev.

Hello

Yes the HP488 board will run your programs stand alone without a PC and is not required to load on the programs to the chips.
