I'm running both MPLAB 8 and MPLAB X on Windows 10 Pro. According to Microchip MPLAB X is the way forward, other versions have been retired.

Hi Jac,

my next bekale starts, I have downloaded version 8.92 but my Pickit 3 is not in MPLAB mode, now you used to be able to download the standalone pickit3 software version PICkit 3.01 but now Microchip have taken it off and replaced with a Beta version that does not give you the option to revert to MPLAB mode :? , I will do some more digging.

Thanks

If I recall correctly the application to switch modes between MPLAB 8 and MPLAB X is part of the MPLAB X tool suite.

You have checked the "Download archive" tab of the MPLAB X page? It has PICkit 3 Programmer App and Scripting Tool v3.10.

Hi Jac,

I tried the logical approach and went to the Microchip website but it is a terrible site to find anything, I tried products/programmers found the pickit3 but no sign of any software, anyway I downloaded the software from your link which incidentally crashes unless you run it as administrator, anyway finally got the pickit3 working.

Thanks
