Hi Garry

I had a similar issue with FC7 this week
It was caused by having a micro USB converter (empty) plugged into the internal card reader.
Removing the adaptor (or having a memory card in the adaptor) and all was well.
1 in 10 people understand binary, the other one doesn't !

Antivirus software or other protection software like Windows Defender could be the culprit. You could try white-listing or making exceptions for the Flowcode and BoostC EXEs.

Hi Steve
Latest from our IT
Our Information Security team has reviewed the logs made in my area and we can see that Bitdefender hasn’t blocked or interfered with any activity.

Any other suggestions ?
Regards Gary

Still No joy with getting flowcode to work.
May have to rethink and drop using flowcode in our lab permanently and find an alternative solution using some other software and re design our lab practicals.

Having to use a forum like this to resolve issues is not very satisfactory as I am relying on other users to volunteer ideas.
Some form of technical support our IT could talk to would have been be useful.

Hello,

Telephone support is painful at best but I understand your frustration.

It seems that Flowcode worked on your old setup but now has a problem. So what has changed between setups.

Are you using a new antivirus / firewall software package?

Have you changed versions of Windows?

Is it a specific chip pack that is having compile issues?

If you leave it compiling does it eventually finish?

Is there anything else you can tell us which might potentially throw some light on the issue, i.e. is the system managed by management software?

Flowcode 6 is known to work well so it must be something specific to your new setup.

Hi Benj
Thanks for your input, yes It is frustrating for me as I just want to make it work
We are apparently using Bit Defender
Have just timed the download process, previously I had given up @ about 10 minutes, but have now sat with stop watch and .............

succesfully compiled and downloaded after 25 minutes.

Kind Regards Gary

Hi Gary,

Can you try adding the Flowcode files or directory to the Bitdefender exclusions list.

Details of how to do this are available here.
http://www.bitdefender.com/support/how- ... -1467.html

Hopefully that should speed up your compile time.

Hi Benj
It does appear that Bit defender may be the problem, hopefully our IT are allowed to add flowcode to the exclusions list.

Thanks Gary :)
