The resistor colour codes can cause novices some problems.
Though not exactly microcontroller based this may be useful to members.
This is a simple program I wrote In visual basic several years ago to graphically illustrate the colour codes.
Just click on the colour of each band in order and the program will show a visual image of the resistor and calculate its value.
The program may need the Visual Basic runtime DLL files from Microsoft to be downloaded if not already installed.
This program maybe freely distributed and used by users on the forums.
Simply unzip and run the file. It does not need to be installed.
