Registration code not working

Post by kdoney34711 »

Well, I asked general email and sales email about this problem and since they won't reply, I'll put it out there for everyone to comment on. I downloaded the new version of flowcode V4 to my new Windows 7 machine and now my name and registration code combination will not work to register my copy. Please advise.

Hello Kevin

Im sorry to hear you did not receive replies from the sales and general enquireys methods. The problem with v4.2 is that you must run the program as an administrator (eg right click the shortcut and select run as administrator) to allow the registration to take effect. Once you have done this you can run the software as normal.

Let me know how you get on.

If does not successfully register using administrator mode, then here's how it works:

When you install flowcode, you will have two sets of keys: 6 sets of 6 chars which determine type of licence you have. 7 sets of 6 chars which is paired to your registered name. Easiest way is during install select 'Do not enter a key (upgrade or no Key)

After install has completed, run flowcode, then have 'create a new Flowcode flowchart' selected. Choose any target, then select Help then Register.
at this stage do not put anything in Name: box.
Copy and paste CD key (6 lots of 6 chars) in Key: Box. If correct key then you will get a message about restarting flowcode and key has been stored etc.
Restart flowcode, then if key was successful you will get a reminder box stating 'This program is not free' etc. Click on Enter Key.
Paste your user name in Name:
and your 7 lots of 6 chars into Key. All being well you will get a message about key is stored. That should be it.
If this does not work then you will need to contact matrix for a new key.

Hope this helps.
Martin

I upgraded a Dell Mini 9 to Windoze 7 and discovered the following:

The first time it runs enter Name and Key.... It says 'Accepted'.

After restarting the proggy it asks for keys again - do it again then go online from the Help - Register tab to do the registration...

Then it works....

If Keys accepted and stored, but on next run process has to be repeated again, then maybe it was not ran in administration mode as Ben suggested.
(right click on Flowcode icon 'Run as administrator')
This is required even if you have full admin rights!
Glad you have sorted so this is for anyone else with similar problem.

I have just tried everything suggested and it still doesn't work. I am running in XP compatibility mode with admin privledges. I start the program and enter the key and name, it tells me the key is invalid. If I restart and just press OK and select any target then go to help and enter just the key, it won't accept it. The box stays there. When I finally fill in the name it tells me it is invalid. Any other suggestions?

The sales contact got back to me and solved the problem. Apparently the code sent to me expires after a certain period of time. He sent me another code which I entered first and then it accepted the original code after that. As long as it works ...
