Latest version CAN eBlocks

Post by NickDA »

Hi, I've just taken delivery of some new CAN bus eBlocks (EB-018-00-2). These are obviously version 2 of the board but I can find no datasheet on the website to support these and there are obviously some changes (e.g. no reset switch) . Any idea when we'll get the datasheets? I have to fix the things when our students break them.
Thanks,
Nick

Hello Nick

Thanks for the spot I have just been through and checked which support files are missing from the website.

Hopefully we will have this all sorted for you as soon as possible.

Hi Ben,
Almost a year now and still the old datasheet is on the website. Any chance, at least, of emailing the circuit diagram? I've got a really weird fault and to fix it I NEED the schematic.

The latest datasheet is in our Learning Centre. Just search for EB018 on this page:

Hi Steve,
Sorry, but it isn't. I get the same datasheet for both links i.e. EB018-30-1, the one with the reset button both in the picture and in the schematic!
Regards,
Nick

Hi Nick,

Yep - I see what you mean. The files are actually different, but in name only! The change between V1 and V2 was very small and it seems to have been overlooked when the datasheet was reversionned.

Basically, the circuit is identical with these exceptions:
  • C3 is 0.1uF instead of 10uF
  • PB1 has been removed
  • There is an additional 0.1uF capacitor (C4) between Vcc and Gnd
I hope this is enough information to help you debug the board.
