PIC1826J40 Configuration

Post by RobinCordell »

Hi Folks,

have just procured a batch of 18F26J50's from Microchipdirect and was setting up a project in Flowcode 4.3 and discovered that the configuration screens are blank. I have attached a screen shot of the blank configuration options page. Is there an updated FCD file for the 26J50 family?

Thanks Robin

Hello,

There is an updated version of PPP that includes the 18F26J50 config settings available from here.

You will need to extract the contents of the rar archive into your "Flowcode v4\Tools\PPP" folder for the changes to be made.

Also make sure you are not running PPP or Flowcode when you copy the files to ensure they get overwritten correctly.

If you cannot open the rar file then you can download winrar for free from here.
http://www.rarlab.com/

Let me know how you get on.

Thanks for that Ben, I downloaded the updated ppp.rar file and attempted to unpack them onto my Vista laptop. Unfortunately, this failed as 4 files (mpusbapi.dll, ntport.dll, PPPv3.chm and PPPv3.exe) all appeared to be locked by the operating system despite the fact that Flowcode was not running and there was no programmer plugged in. I did manage to complete the update by restarting the machine in safe mod. However, since then, I have got the error message

"Programming failed:

DeviceData18F idCount is missing"

What have I done wrong?

Incidentally, if I run PPPv3.exe directly, I can read the device data and it all appears to be OK but if I try to 'autodetect PIC' I get the "DeviceData18F idCount is missing" error message again.

Thanks

Robin
