V4.5 PIC 18F8490 and CAN Component
Hello
I have a problem with a project that was origibaly done in V4.3 but after upgrading to V4.5 it will not complie correctly.. The PIC used is 18F8490 and the hardware is the external CAN controller MCP2515.
No CAN signal at all can be detected when copiled from V4.5. But when using a HEX file generated on a computer running 4.3 the CAN signal is fine.
Any ideas on how to fix this. I need to get this going tonight...... so please help.

Hello,
Hm that's strange. Please can you post up the Flowcode file and the generated C file. Also if you have the C file from the v4.3 compilation then that would also be handy If you don't have this then no problems. I will have a look through the component code and see what has changed between revisions.

Re: V4.5 PIC 18F8490 and CAN Component
Thanks for the files.
Here is a copy of the v4.3 CAN component C code. You should be able to replace the file in your "Flowcode v4/components" directory with the attached file, restart Flowcode and you should be up and running again. I will have a dig in and see why the newer file is causing problems. Cheers for all your PM files they should make the task a lot simpler.
Let me know how you get on with the component C code.

Hello,
Sorry about this here is a link to the v4.3 installer.
http://www.matrixmultimedia.com/softwar ... codeV4.exe
You will first have to uninstall v4.5 before 4.3 will allow you to install it correctly.

I will add to this,
In case you did not know, you will not need to enter licence details again, just defer the entering of licence information and it should still remain fully registered to you.

Re: V4.5 PIC 18F8490 and CAN Component
Hello
there seams to be a different PIC_CAN.c file on my working system.
In comments it has the following line:
* 231109 | SK | Commented out definitions of TX1IE, TX2IE, TX1IF, TX2IF. Clash with definitions for some PIC devices (18F8490).
File is attached.
But this file does not work in a V4.5 installation.
Could you make a V4.5 compatible version of this file and send it to me?

Hello,
Here is a slightly modded version of the v4.5 CAN component C file. Please can you give this a go and let us know how you get on.

Hello,
Have you modified the boostc directory at all. It looks like the incorrect linker is being used which is causing the errors. May be worth uninstalling, deleting the Flowcode v4 folder to ensure no left over files remain and then re-installing if you have not modified the folder.
