As you explore the world of electronics, you will encounter a wide variety of circuits (or networks) that don't contain semiconductors or other amplifying devices. Despite their simplicity, circuits of this type have a number of important applications including:

*reducing the voltage or current in a circuit by a fixed ratio

*altering the frequency response of a circuit (e.g. allowing a circuit to pass only signals within a given frequency range)

*altering the shape of a waveform (e.g. changing a square wave to a triangle wave) (:nl:)(:table style="clear:both":)
