Resistors oppose the flow of current in an electric circuit and provide us with a means of controlling the currents and voltages present in electronic circuits. Resistors can also act as loads to simulate the presence of a circuit during testing (e.g., a suitably rated resistor can be used to replace a loudspeaker when an audio amplifier is being tested).
