Flowcode v10 Flowcode v10 Released

Post by Steve-Matrix »

Flowcode v10 is now available to download and/or buy. More details can be found on the Flowcode home page.

Current Flowcode users will be familiar with most features of v10, but two of the more significant changes are worth commenting on here.

Free components and simplified licensing
In earlier versions, add-on component packs in Flowcode were purchased separately. In v10, almost all components are free and we make their source code available via the wiki. We have also removed the additional feature packs. Some of these are now available for all users, but some have become part of the professional licence.

Whilst certain target devices are free, you will need to purchase additional chip packs to unlock other targets.

This means for most users who use some of the more common targets, Flowcode is now free to use with the exception of a few pro-only features.

2d Panels and Components
Major changes have occurred with the component panels. The 3d panel remains, but the old 2d panel has been replaced with a new dedicated 2d panel. In fact you can add as many 2d panels to your project as you like.

Old v9 (and earlier) projects can be loaded into Flowcode v10 and the old 2d panel will behave as before, but the old 2d panel will not be available in new projects and new 2d panel(s) should be used instead.

We have improved the look of the 2d components and added some new ones. Components for the 3d panel remain, but cannot be added to the new 2d panels.
