PICs for 'simulation only' ?

After several months fired up FC10 again to tackle a new project.
When trying to select a processor, all except a very few are marked with a red exclamation point 'simulation only', see attached.
I refreshed my license and restarted but same issue.
Also I cannot connect an ADC to the chip, all chip pins are grayed out and are unresponsive.
What's going on??
