Is it impossible to use the RD7 as the UART RX on the PIC24FJ512GA606?

Hello.
A new Flowcode v11 only feature.
Within Flowcode, select Build > Online Stuff > Target chip peripheral pins
Within the new window that opens select Upload Project icon then Reload icon
You can then scroll down all the pins to see what they support.
Below is what you should expect to see:

Only guessing but Maybe it's Professional only feature?
At least now you have your answer by look at the screenshot in the previous post.
