Flowcode v11 Re: Max7219_v.fcpx and Max7219_v9.fcpx Martin Fisher

Post by jgu1 »

Hi Martin!

Tank you for your help.

I know that the Max7219_v2.fcpx works in FC8, at least for scrolling on both dieretion 0 and 1 displays.

I understood from you that it might be something to do with a few commas that need to be removed from the macro, after which it should work in Flowcode 11.

Wouldn’t it perhaps be easier to simply remove those commas from the Max7219_v2.fcpx file, rather than you having to spend a huge amount of time creating or modifying the whole component?

Just a thought. :)

Best regards,
Jørgen

Yes - and there is just one small flaw with the plan....

v2 might be lost in the mists of time :-(

No - I don't know if it's possible to 'decompile' the fcpx file. I did have an attempt one time (add a function, look at the hex and repeat - but I didn't gain enlightenment)

Hi Martin,
With the component loaded, right - click on the function within Project Explorer and select Show as Flowchart, or Blocks etc.

Hi Martin, thanks - yes that works for 'downloadable' macros.

I'll have an experiment with v2 ...

Thanks Jorgen,

Good to know it's working - wasn't too big a change...

Not sure if I ever posted the source code (is it wrong to use the forum as a backup device?) - but be kind, it's quite a few years old (I was just starting to play with Flowcode then) - and I'm sure much could be done differently (read better :-) )
