Thus: V'_P_'/V'_S_' = N'_P_'/N'_S_' where V'_P_' is the primary voltage, V'_S_' is the secondary voltage, N'_P_' is the number of turns on the primary winding and N'_S_' is the number of turns on the secondary winding. The ratio of primary to secondary turns on a transformer, N'_P_'/N'_S_' , is known as the turns-ratio of the transformer. Finally, the turns-per-volt rating for a transformer is sometimes quoted. This rating is given by: t.p.v. = N'_P_'/V'_P_' = N'_S_'/V'_S_'
