New laptop so installing everything fresh. I followed all instructions exactly on a clean machine running w11 and so far all good including esp 5.1....... which surprised me somewhat
However knowing even a slight change can really throw spanners in the work with 3rd party toolchain, when it came to the Pico toolchain when I click on the link I'm informed that the page is deprecated and to follow another link elsewhere. Is it "safe" to do so and by that I mean will it work or will it cause problems with the install?
Hi Iain.
the link is safe and the correct link to use.
The wording implies tool chain is no longer supported by the developer.
Later versions have not been tested on Flowcode, so might not even work.
If anyone decided to use later versions, then it will be at their risk.
Thanks for the clarification. Having previously experienced a few nightmares when attempting to install different toolchains to recommended, I was a bit reluctant to just press on.
I'd forgotten how much of a pain setting a new machine up can be. All the unwanted stuff to be removed, wanted stuff to be installed then deciding which folders need to move too. Deep joy... but at least I'll be able to use App Developer (well I could on PCs but I hate just sitting at one)
