Flowcode v11 Max7219_v.fcpx and Max7219_v9.fcpx Martin Fisher

Post by jgu1 »

Hi Martin (mfisher)! :)

Some time ago, you created the Max7219_v2.fcpx component for Flowcode 8. It still works perfectly in FC8, but when I add it to FC11, I get a lot of errors and I’m unable to compile.

I also have a Max7219_v9.fcpx file (I have no idea where I got that one from 😊), but unfortunately that one doesn’t work in FC11 either.

I have a program that I would like to edit, and I would really prefer to do it in FC11.

Would you be able and willing to modify one of these files so that it is compatible with FC11 and can be used there? It was a really good component for controlling up to 8×8 MAX7219 displays, and I would very much like to keep using it.

If you can and are willing to have a look at it, I would really appreciate it. I Guess you have both file, don´t know hvat the difference is in these two, otherwice I can att. them

Many thanks in advance!

Jorgen

Hi Jorgen,

Yes, surely can. I have used it with v11 - so hopefully nothing too major. What issue are you getting?

So nice Martin.

Get this during compiling:

C:\Flowcode11\Forsoeg\MAX7219FC11>"C:\Program Files (x86)\Flowcode\Common\Compilers\avrv5\bin\avr-gcc.exe" -mmcu=atmega328p -Os -ffunction-sections -fdata-sections -funsigned-char -o "C:\Flowcode11\Forsoeg\MAX7219FC11\Flowcode11.elf" "C:\Flowcode11\Forsoeg\MAX7219FC11\Flowcode11.c" -lm -Wl,-gc-sections
C:\Flowcode11\Forsoeg\MAX7219FC11\Flowcode11.c:37:41: error: expected expression before ',' token
0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,,

I made a small testprogram

Flowcode v11 Re: Max7219_v.fcpx and Max7219_v9.fcpx Martin Fisher

Hi Martin!
Thank you Martin! :D

Yes, now I can compile after change the v.2 makro to v.9 it work, but If I in Scroll string change the direktion to 0,the text is appearing mirrored. In my test program, I am using four 8x8 displays, but I am forced to use only three devices, otherwise, not all the text shows up. Is there something I need to adjust in the Properties?

EDIT: If I use the Slew macro Examble write "test", the last t is missing.

Hi Jorgen,

Just tested on hardware (albeit with a Uno not a Nano) - and Slew works AOK - if you have four displays attached then set the number to 4 (Slew just scrolls until the left side of the letters is at 0 - so if the text doesn't fit then the end will be lost... If you have more displays attached than set - odd things happen on ones at the end of the chain.. How are you powering the displays? (if from the nano 5v then try setting the brightness to 0 or 1)

Scroll does reverse the text with direction = 0 - Odd... I'll have a look - but it's some time ago - Mode 0 might have to be mirror writing :-)

Hi Martin!

Your rigth (as always  ) Few mA more and 4 digit in proporties, the last digit turn on ;)

Wish, is it possible to change the orientation in the Sleew component I also like this Macro, but if i have the other macro in 0 and add the slew then it is in 1 ( Direktion 0 and 1 from the display ect. Ili9341) hope you understand what I mean?

And Please the Mirror Issue, as far I remember it vork in ver.2 If I ask to much, let know ;)

I've realised why the scroll reverses the text - it draws a column of the current character then scrolls the display right - so the left hand column of the character -> right first. So mirrored. Need to draw the right most column of the last character in the string first - scroll and repeat....
