At the same time I bought the ECIO28p I also bought an ECIO40p16 (dsPIC). Never looked at either until now and I find the dsPIC is actually a ECIO40p... Oh well, I should have checked at the time...
Loading the drivers on the W7 laptop I again get the connect / disconnect sound straight after each other and nothing shows up in Device Manager, just like the ECIO28p. However the led on the 40p is almost imperceptible. From within FC if I try to compile to chip it gets as far as telling me that I need to press the reset button, but nothing happens if I do.
If I use mLoader to send the hex then I have no issue.
I'll probably get around to trying on W8.1 later in the week.
Hi.
There was a batch of ECIO40's that got the outer GND track chopped off at the PCB manufacture stage.
All you need is a link from one GND pin to the other GND pin.
Thanks for the info. I'll fix that later in the week.
Getting the ECIO28p was mainly to explore FD but as the ECIO range is now discontinued I probably won't spend too much time with them other than "play".
