Failing to perform latest sw update
I tried to update my current version of FC v9 today. I could see from the update list that there were 27 updates but, for some reason it stated the files needing updating were not genuine. I tried several times to perform the update to no avail. I have attached some error messages which I hope will help. This is the first time I have had this problem as I have updated quite a few times previously without any issues. ( I am an administrator on my laptop. ) Regards Mark.

Re: Failing to perform latest sw update
The first error message "Could not install update in the expected location" indicates that the Flowcode installer cannot replace the "data" folder of Flowcode. This is under the original installation location. It could be a permissions issue, or could be because Windows is holding one of the files open. Or perhaps another instance of Flowcode is running.
To fix this, I suggest you restart your PC and then run the Flowcode launcher. If this fails to download and install Flowcode then we'll need to investigate further.
The second issue shows some local files as "not genuine". This is because you are still running v9.0 but those files are for v9.1 and the original release of Flowcode cannot determine their status. You should be able to ignore these for now while running v9.0. The messages will go away once you have updated to v9.1.

Re: Failing to perform latest sw update
I assume restarting your PC did not solve it for you.
What about running the Flowcode launcher with elevated privileges? (i.e. right-click the launcher exe or the Flowcode shortcut and select "run as administrator"). This should solve your issue if Flowcode is installed in a location where your account does not have read/write access.

Hi,
tested all with, without etc. administrator, compatibility, reinstall... nothing now not working.

Re: Failing to perform latest sw update
This has been tested on quite a few PCs now, so I'm confused why this issue is happening for you.
I've just uninstalled and reinstalled the original release of Flowcode into the default location. Then I ran Flowcode and said "yes" to the update. At this point, the Windows UAC dialog launched and my user privileges were elevated. The update was then downloaded and installed without issue.
If you are still having problems, then I suggest you try the steps I took above and see if that works.
Please let me know how you get on.

Re: Failing to perform latest sw update
Hi,
now i am be able to have working Flowcode:
1)Uninstall Flowcode
2)Delete all folder related Flowcode
3)Disable antivirus (Kaspersky antivirus)
4)Clean all with Ccleaner and restart PC
5)Install Flowcode without changing nothing with first version
6)Update ok
But i hope this is not standard procedure for next version....

Re: Failing to perform latest sw update
Thanks for letting us know. It sounds like Kaspersky may have been interfering with the process and I will investigate to see if there's anything we can do to prevent this in future.
