DSP on ESP32 versus dspic

Not sure exactly what resources your DSP utilises so have question based upon DSP performance only

It would appear from quickly looking at speed and being 32 bit etc the ESP32 would be faster and therefore better is that a correct assumption ?

Yes you are correct, the DSP library is maths based and so a faster processor equals faster DSP calculations
