Flowcode v10 Running V9 and V10

Post by RGV250 »

Hi,
I would like to upgrade to V10 as it looks like it has some nice features, I am also a little wary of new version compatibility so I was wondering if you can run V9 or 10 on the same PC or does V10 install over V9 or modify some components.
If they can be run individually will it cause any problems if I uninstall V9 later on when I am completely happy with the transition to V10.

Regards,
Bob

Hi Bob,

Both should work independantly, have their own sets of installers, regstry files, component files etc.

Just be aware that v9 projects can be loaded into v10 but v10 projects may cause problems in v9. Largely it will work either way but it's not guarenteed. So make a backup of the project in v9 if you want to be able to go back and work in v9.

Hi Ben,
Thanks, I am only concerned about migrating V9 programs to V10 in case there are issues. When I started with computers there used to be a saying don't buy software until it is on Version 3 to make sure issues are ironed out. I think Microsoft was to blame for that although they are on V11 and it still isn't bug free.
