Flowcode10!

Post by jgu1 »

Hi team!

I hear the jungle drums says that the Flowcode10 release is in this autumn. I have some question and hope it´s ok I ask ;)

Do you know more exactly When you will release?
Is the FC10 based on FC9 I mean compiler ect.?
Do FC10 start from beginning again with all component and everything? Herby I think the risk of bugs?
how far back is it compatible with older version?

Yhank´s in advance

jorgen

Hi Jorgen,

Yes - Flowcode v10 will be released probably at end of this year or early next year.

There are not too many changes for the code being generated, but there are a lot of improvements to how the components look.

V10 should be compatible with v9 and v8 projects and we will try to fix any problems that you encounter when loading these into v10.

Any further information about V10 release date available please as I have the following conundrum.
I bought the raspberry pi pack for V8 before V9 was released. I want to use the Raspberry Pico which doesn’t work with my existing V8 pi pack. I have Flowcode V9 and could buy the V9 pi pack which I get an existing user discount on, but when V10 comes out I will have to buy the pack again, in effect paying full price for the pack. It would be useful having the V9 pack now but If V10 is imminent for the money difference I would hold off from buying the V9 pack.
Alternatively do Flowcode/matrix TSL have a policy that packs bought just before a major update are available at no extra cost, or could consider such a policy

We expect Flowcode v10 to be released in January.

There is a policy to allow free upgrades to recent purchases, but I do not know if it has been finalised. But I would say that if you go ahead and buy the RPi pack now, then I will ensure this is freely added to your v10 pack when you upgrade. Please contact me when you upgrade to v10 to remind me!
