Different types of PICmicro

There are a large number of PICmicro devices available, from the humble 16F84 to larger more complex PICmicro's such as the 40 pin 16F1937.

Different PICmicro's may have different number of ports, or I/O pins, analogue inputs, larger memory, or advanced serial communications capabilities such as RS232 or SPI bus which you will learn about in other chapters.

Deciding on which PICmicro device to use for a particular project can be quite a task in itself.

For this course we will be using a 16F1937 device. This is a 40 pin PICmicro that has many internal circuits (like A/D converter, and serial port). (:nl:)(:table style="clear:both":)
